Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between heatset and coldset printing?

At Signature Graphics, our heatset printing uses a heat source to dry the ink after printing, resulting in a glossy appearance similar to that in magazines. Coldset printing traditionally air-dries the ink, resulting in a newspaper-like format and matte appearance.

Which printing method is best for my project?

The print method you select depends on your overarching goals and specific project needs. If you’d prefer a premium, glossy appearance, our heatset press at Signature Graphics is going to be your best choice. If saving money is your goal and you don’t mind a matte finish, our Signature Graphics coldset press is ideal.

What types of print materials are offered?

Our team at Signature Graphics covers the bases for numerous types of print materials, including:

  • Coupon books
  • High-volume publications
  • Catalogs
  • Newspapers
  • Circulars
  • Free-standing inserts
  • Direct mail postcards
  • Standards
  • Tabloids
  • Flexies
  • Coupon books
  • And more

For the actual materials Signature prints on, we offer traditional paper stocks (standard text and cover papers) and specialty stocks (cardstock, glossy paper and recycled paper).

How long does the printing process take?

Turnaround times always vary depending on the complexity of your project and the number of materials needed. Typically, you can expect standard jobs to take 5-7 business days, but this time may be extended or shortened depending.

Do you handle design, or do I need to provide print-ready files?

We handle every step of the printing process at Signature Graphics, including design, delivery and everything in between. With that being said, we also offer prepress solutions and will take print-ready files as well.

How is shipping and delivery handled for printed materials?

Our team at Signature Graphics ensures shipping and delivery are handled on top of every other step in the printing process. To accomplish this, we have a fleet of drivers available at Archer 3P Logistics on timely schedules to get everything delivered when we say it will. With a direct line available and 24/7 staff, your partnership and print materials will always be our top priority.

What product or format is recommended for my project?

When it comes to heatset and coldset printing, the possibilities are endless. We work with you to determine the best format for your project based on objectives, audience and budget.

What paper stock is recommended for my project?

There are numerous paper grades we can recommend for your project from gloss finish, matte finish and newsprint. Paper also comes in various quality and thickness types. Our relationships with mills ensure we can help you find the right paper to fit your project objectives.

If my project is advertising materials, how should I distribute my ads?

Our clients use a variety of options to deliver printed advertising materials to their customers and prospects. The two biggest factors are local availability of print options and the overall budget. We may recommend newspapers, solo direct mail or shared direct mail through our wholly-owned subsidiary, Mailbox Merchants.

What ROI can I expect from my project?

Return on Investment (ROI) depends on many factors including competitors, market conditions and your offering. However, at Signature Graphics, we are laser-focused on helping you find efficiency in your investment and crafting the right solution to maximize your ROI.

What will my project cost?

Cost is determined by more than just paper and ink. Volumes and freight also impact the cost of a project. We find the most cost-effective way to produce your product from how we source paper – how we configure our presses, how we finish projects for distribution and how we ship to your project’s final destination. The care we take in each step of the process ensures your project is completed as affordably as possible.
